Festival Mar Abierto is a new concept for a new time that prioritizes creating a festival that is as sustainable as possible, so that in the future we can continue enjoying it together. Therefore, we work to make our impact smaller and smaller and create a sustainable event. We know that the road is long, but it is our commitment to achieve it.

WHAT IS A SUSTAINABLE EVENT?

The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) defines it like this:

“That which is designed, organized and implemented in a way that minimizes negative environmental impacts and leaves a positive legacy for the community that hosts it”

HOW TO ACHIEVE THE GOAL?

Reducing our possible negative impacts and optimizing processes to make them more efficient. Guaranteeing sustainable management based on reducing the ecological footprint. Ensuring the preservation of the human rights of all people involved, transparency and good governance by the organization. Contributing and collaborating with the strengthening and sustainable development of the sector and the community. Being an amplifier of the effects of climate change.

  • 1 - RECYCLING PLAN

We installed a waste separation system with containers distributed throughout the festival site, so that you can help us with selective collection (paper, plastic, organic and remains).

  • 2 - ENERGY PLAN

Open Sea Festival reduces and optimizes energy use by installing efficient lighting: LED technology for lighting bars, tents, VIP areas, dressing rooms... reducing energy consumption.

  • 3 - GASTRONOMY

We prioritize suppliers that purchase organic and local products (km0) and foods that value local gastronomy.

  • 4 - SOCIAL IMPACT

It is essential for the festival to continue giving visibility to the environmental problem, which is why we will continue to be an amplifier of the effects of climate change.

HOW CAN YOU HELP US?

Minimum footprint: Use public transportation to come to the festival or share a car. Help us separate waste and use the containers that you will find throughout the festival. Reuse your glass.
